Microsoft’s early attempt at making workbooks sharable was in Excel 97, which introduced the Shared Workbook feature. This has severe limitations!
Now in 2019, we’re still thinking of ‘sharing’ as sharing spreadsheets (like Google). This is quite different to many spreadsheets (typically different ones customized to specific purposes) sharing the same data.
