The word ‘paranoia’ crops up in many places in my writing. So I think it needs a special blog on its own!
Much of the work on spreadsheet risk is about detecting, auditing and correcting errors in spreadsheets. Mostly, these are caused by user error. Mostly these are caused by the user being able to screw up the spreadsheet.
But here’s the thing.
If a spreadsheet can be replaced, just like we toss out a broken light bulb and replace is with a new one, does it matter?
(Note to self. I should keep my blogs short and sweet and to the point. Like this one!)
