I’ve written loads about the essential difference between ‘teaching things’ and ‘learning how to do things’.

To ‘figure out how to do things’ requires thinking.

Watching someone else do something goes a long way towards learning. But it’s still watching.

Learning to ‘figure out’ requires ‘figuring out’ – and doing.
