This is a blog about the (hitherto unheard of) technical terms that keep coming into our spreadsheet language. Some of them make traditional spreadsheet users frightened of new developments.

But why?

It’s the fear of the unknown. A phantom fear.

New fancy (and big) terms to refer to simple ideas that we always knew about. Or things we always could do, but now is introduced as the new big thing. Okay, there are some new bells and whistles, but the new bells and whistles may be irrelevant to our present needs.

So, it’s still just the ‘thing we always knew about’.

I have a list of these, but they’re best introduced by example rather than words.

Look out for them.
