Why do we (still) need to protect worksheets?

Or (subtitled) why do we get paranoid over having to repair corrupted spreadsheets when we can just replace them?

This is a thread on LinkedIn I woke up to this morning. A bit of additional explanation below.

This will contrast (1) the traditional spreadsheet architecture Bill is referring to and (2) the architecture I’m referring to. Perhaps Ejaz can expand on that with PowerQuery.
